The annual President’s Dinner was held at the Quonset “O” Club in North Kingstown. In addition to honoring outgoing president, Katherine Kelly Orr, the 2008-09 Council of Administration, awards were given out to RIPA members who have performed service to the Association, the profession, and the community. They are:
The Charles Hachadorian, Jr. Award is presented to a non-pharmacist who has recognized the efforts that the profession of pharmacy has made in health care and has actively supported those efforts. For the first time, this award is given to two individuals who introduced and supported the pharmacist immunization legislation to its successful outcome. This year's recipient is: Richard Hathaway
The Wyeth “Bowl of Hygeia Award is given to a pharmacist whose service to the community reflects well on the profession of pharmacy. This year’s recipient is Scott A. Campbell.
The Pharmacist’s Mutual “Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year” Award is presented to a pharmacist who has made an impact on the profession within 9 years of graduation. This year’s recipient is Brian Musiak.
The Guido L. Pettinichio Award is given to a pharmacist whose single or sustained contribution to the profession qualifies them to be named the “Outstanding Pharmacist of the Year”. This year’s recipient is Jeffrey P. Bratberg for his sustained contribution to the profession.
The Elan Pharmaceuticals Innovative Practice Award is given to an individual who has taken the profession in novel and exciting directions. This year’s recipient is Tracey H. Taveira
The RIPA Service awards are given to individuals who actively support the Association and the practice of pharmacy. This year’s awards and recipients are:
